Description: Triton
provided site investigation and remedial design
and implementation services for this 6 acre
parcel within the coastal boundary of Long
Island Sound. The site previously operated
as a manufacturing facility producing steel and
cooper wire.
Triton's Phase II and Phase III investigations
determined that site activities had resulted in
both petroleum and solvent impacts beneath the
site building. Triton conducting a soild
vapor survey to determine site compliance with
volatilization criteria, and is implementing a
remediation of chlorinated solvent contaminated
soil and groundwater through significant in-situ
chemical oxidation injection program beneath the
building. Initial results indicate
significant reduction in solvent concentrates
due to the chemical oxidation process.
Role: Conducted
comprehensive Phase II and Phase III testing to
define on-site and off-site impacts, developed
remedial strategy involving use of in-situ
chemical oxidation and soil excavation,
calculated site specific cleanup criteria.
