Brownfield Site Assessment
New Haven, CT

Client: Regional Growth Partnership

Description: Triton conducted a targeted brownfield assessment at the former Grand Fuel Facility for the Regional Growth Partnership.  The 1/2 acre site consisted of a 13,500 square foot brick building with 5 repair bays formerly used for automobile maintenance, repair and fueling since the 1900s.  Triton's work included site investigation and remediation design in connection with the parcels planned renovation.

The project required the fast track development of a sampling plan, Phase II and Phase III assessments and report.  Triton efficiently executed the work plan which involved expedited assessment using field screening methods.  Sampling locations were adjusted in the field based on field screening.  This technique enabled Triton to reduce project costs efficiently define the extent of soil contamination.  Triton is currently implementing a Remedial Action Plan and Groundwater Monitoring Plan for the site.

Role: Design and implement full Phase II and Phase III Environmental Site Assessments to identify areas of concern and delineate several release areas and groundwater plumes. Design creative remedial strategies based on identified impacts.
